17. Nikki Bella's Divas Title Reign

Okay I have been wanting to write about this for a while. I have hesitated because of my opinions possibly pissing off people. But I have to come to realize that, this is my opinion and no one can take that way from me. Today I am here to talk about Nikki Bella's Divas Championship Reign. Now everyone knows that I am a huge Bella fan, but I will keep it real. So let's get started...

Okay so this all started back at Survivor Series 2014 when Nikki Bella won the Divas Championship off of AJ Lee. I was so happy for this moment. I have been pulling for Nikki to win the Divas Title ever since her short 6 day reign back in 2012. She did it. The company put that trust in her to be its champion and no one else at the time deserved it more than her. I remember putting a Vine out saying "Thank You Bella Army and Fearless University, I just couldn't have done this without you". And that made me even more proud. I've never been more proud in a diva like I was that night.

Okay so Nikki then went on to give AJ a rematch at TLC and she walked out champion. She won by having the referee paying attention to Brie as she was leaving, she then sprayed AJ with hairspray. She then got the Rack Attack on her and got the pin. Okay so Nikki was a heel and she cheated, so this first title defense didn't bother me.

She then went onto Royal Rumble where her and Brie faced Natalya and Paige. The Bella Twins walked out with the win clean when Nikki gave a vicious elbow to Natalya. So she didn't have a title defense, which I thought would be Nikki vs Natalya. I was okay with there being no title defense just because the storyline made the tag match make sense.

Nikki would then start a feud with Paige. This led to a title match between the two at FastLane. Nikki would again win and retain the title after rolling up Paige. Okay so this one was controversial. This was when fans started complaining about Nikki's reign and how she always is booked to cheat. Well when you go back and watch this match, it is clear that Nikki DID NOT hold Paige's shorts in the roll up. She beat her clean.

Nikki would continue her feud with Paige and Paige would receive 2 more title matches throughout the month of March. And Nikki would retain the divas title in both occasions. The first one, Brie got involved and caused a DQ win for Paige. Then the second time, AJ accidently hit Paige and then Nikki capitalized and hit her with the rack attack to get the win. So she only cheated in 1 of these matches.

Nikki and Brie would then go on to face AJ Lee and Paige at WrestleMania 31 in a losing effort to AJ and Paige. I was really pissed that there was no title match at Mania. Many fans wanted the Fatal 4 Way between Nikki, Brie, Paige, and AJ. Or at least a Triple Threat between Nikki, Paige, and AJ. But no they gave us a tag team match. However, it had a great build.

Nikki would then start a feud with Naomi. Naomi was the runner up in a #1 contenders battle royal, in which Paige won. Naomi turned heel and attacked Paige, so she took her spot in the title match against Nikki. Nikki now a babyface faced now heel Naomi at Extreme Rules. Nikki walked out champion with the rack attack. Before she got the rack attack, Brie kicked Naomi in the head after Naomi pushed her on the outside. Okay so WWE is still having her cheat even when she is a babyface. It made me mad because I knew she was able. This is when fans starting calling her irrelevant and boring.

Nikki would then keep having her feud with Naomi, as she brought in Tamina as backup. These 2 duos would then feud into Payback. The Bella's lost due to Nikki being distracted from Tamina on the outside. So no title defense and another tag match. But like Mania, it had some good build and it made sense as far as storyline.

Paige would return to get revenge on Naomi. The 3 would then feud and it would lead to a Triple Threat at Elimination Chamber between Nikki, Naomi, and Paige. Nikki walked out champion and she won clean. I was like "DAMN ITS ABOUT TIME". I was so happy because finally fans could stop giving Nikki so much heat for cheating.

Nikki would then go back to cheating when the next night she gave Paige a Divas Championship match. The Bella Twins brought back Twin Magic to win the match and retain the title. I was so mad, after one night she is back to her cheating ways. WWE is so stupid, but why should I be surprised with WWE Creative.


Okay that covers all her title matches. Now let me get to all those people out there who are complaining about booking. First off, before April, SHE WAS A HEEL. Heels cheat most of the time. I don't get why fans have to always give Nikki heat when Seth Rollins cheats all the time in his title defenses. Here let me take it to AJ Lee, SHE CHEATED EVERY SINGLE TIME WHEN SHE GOT TAMINA IN HER CORNER. Like that's why when I see AJ Fans complaining, I just tell them to go watch Hell in a Cell 2013-Elimination Chamber 2014 and then come talk to me. Booking aside, Nikki Bella has been a great champion. She shows up every night and does amazing work in matches. Nikki is one of the better workers on the main roster. Yes, I wish her booking was better, but her matches have been great. Now let me talk about this whole "record breaking" issue.

As we all know, Nikki Bella is approaching 200 Days as Divas Champion. I am going to keep it real, I am seeing all these AJ and Paige fans get all angry. First off, she hasn't even hit 200 days yet and you're already worrying about 295? Shut Up! Seriously? Like why can't Nikki Bella have that moment? Why is it such a big deal? I hate to break it to you AJ fans, but her reign will eventually get broken whether you like it or not. Nikki Bella deserves it. There is no one else on the roster who has worked harder than she has these past few year. Hell she has been working hard for 8 years. At times, some fans can be so selfish when it comes to stuff like this. Some people out there need to realize that WWE is not YOUR playing field. You don't get to make decisions. Nikki is a great champion and she shows that when she is in the ring.

 

I want Nikki to get new contenders. I am beyond tired of seeing Paige in the title picture. Paige has been #1 contender since like February technically. And then people want to say "Bella's have been in the title picture too long too". WELL DUH, NIKKI IS THE CHAMPION, HOW IS CHAMPION NOT IN THE TITLE PICTURE. Like don't start pulling that. I am ready to see girls like Emma, Summer, Charlotte, Natalya, Alicia, and Cameron get a title push. Paige has been pushed for over a year. Like how many times does Nikki have to beat Paige? She has done it 5 times already and she has yet another title match this Sunday. WHY??? Seriously. It is so tiring and boring to see Nikki vs Paige round 25.  I want fresh competitors for Nikki after Sunday. I want Paige out of the title picture for the rest of the year honestly.

In Conclusion, Nikki Bella has been a great champion. She has been booked not to well, but her title matches have been amazing due to her performance. Nikki Bella does DESERVE to break AJ's reign. And I am not even being bias, because I have seen other people say this as well. Nikki has a title match this Sunday against Paige at Money in the Bank, so tune in. At the end of the day, people can hate on her or her reign all you want, but it really doesn't matter. She is still champion and you can't change that. #HatersGonnaHateBellasGonnaBall  so it is what it is! Thank You!
