3. Raw Lacking That "RAW" Feel

So last night was Monday Night Raw. Now every week I always look forward to Raw, no matter what. However I've noticed through Twitter lately that fans seem to feel detached from Raw. And then last night kind of did it for me. I sat back and realized that Raw was lackluster and was filled with "we've seen this already" matches/segments. WWE needs to learn how to book Raw in a much better form, for fans to be more engaged.

First point is backstage segments. Now last night, of course, we opened with a lengthy promo that went well over 10 minutes hyping up the match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The whole promo was set up to have a contract signing, but of course when something is set up it has to be dragged throughout the night. This feud would eventually lead into 3 more backstage segments and then a final segment to end the show. This is highly unnecessary as this time could've have been used for other matches in the night.

My second point. Commercials. Now I know that USA network controls when commercials are put out and how long they last. However, WWE needs to know before the show starts when and where to put certain segments and matches with commercial interruption. Last night was beyond ridiculous. We had so many commercials at random times. We even had a commercial in the middle of a promo from Rusev.

My third point. Promo time. Now we all know that promos are important. They give the audience a clear portrayal of the superstar/diva character. However, when you come out and deliver garbage or take up time that's when it's an issue. A prime and obvious example is John Cena. I respect the guy and I respect what he's doing with the U.S. Title, but he comes out and delivers the same promo every week. It's dreadful. I couldn't even count how many people were annoyed last night on Twitter.

My fourth and final point is the booking of the talent. Now we all know that when having storylines, of course, we're gonna see the same people every week because those are the storylines on TV. The current storylines we have right now are Seth/Dean, Cena/Owens, Neville/Bo, Tag Title feud, IC title feud, and divas title feud. Now those were the 6 focal points of last nights Raw. That's not a problem, because they're focusing on the feuds at hand, however, it's the way they execute the feuds is where it's a problem. I can't count how many times I've seen Authority tag matches vs the new contender. I can't count how many times the IC title contenders have faced off in singles competition. I can't count how many times Cena delivers an irrelevant promo. With Dean/Seth, have them face other talent in the back. There is at least 1/2 of the roster that wasn't used last night that they could've used to put over these guys rather than the recycled tag matches. With the IC title picture, all these guys in the chamber have all faced each other numerous times especially Sheamus and Ziggler. But they can add different dynamic of matches to make it more interesting. Make it creative. Do a triple threat between King Barrett, Sheamus, and Ziggler. And you can even have Lana come out and have the whole Rusev finish. Just adding different dynamic is what counts. And with Cena I already addressed his promo above, if he could just come out and say "challenge starts now" it would give the match itself more time and other talent more time in their matches.

In conclusion, I want Vince to book Raw better. You can tell at certain parts, that certain things are changed last minute. He needs to gain focus when booking his "A" show of the week. Raw needs to brought back to its high-standard level again and deliver that "Raw" Feel. Thank You!
